"We
pinched apples off the trees at Green Fold in our lunchtime when I was
at school. The house was empty you see. We could just make it there and
back in the time we had. The farms at Green Fold were the first two
places to be taken by the Water Board as accommodation for the men
building the railway. There was a quarry at the side of Green
