Gisburn Forest is the largest in Lancashire and is managed by Forest Enterprise. Within the forest there is a network of waymarked forest walks. Contact the Forestry Commission for further details on 01229 860010.
In addition there is a circular walk of approximately 10 miles around Stocks Reservoir. This walk follows in part the route of the temporary light railway built from the dam site to Jumbles & Copter Quarries during the construction of the reservoir.
